Consumers' Major Concern is Medical Care and Treatment |

Results of a recent survey show most consumers are concerned about their medical care and treatment.
The National Survey on Americans as Health Care Consumers: An Update on the Role of Quality Informationasked consumers how concerned they were “about a serious error or mistake leading to injury or harm happening to themselves or a family member in a variety of situations.”
The major concerns were:
- Going to a hospital for care — 74%
- Receiving health care in general — 71%
- Going to a doctor’s office for care — 62%
- Filling prescriptions at the pharmacy — 56%
- Eating food purchased at the supermarket — 54%
- Flying on a U.S. commercial airline — 53%
