After 1 year of pomegranate juice consumption:
- Atherosclerosis reduced by 35% in patients with severe carotid artery stenosis.
- Antioxidant status increased by 130%.
- Systolic blood pressure reduced by 21%.
- LDL cholesterol reduced by 90% in 6 months.
- Glutathione, the body's primary antioxidant, increased 2.5-fold.
Summary: Just 3 oz. of pomegranate juice consumption per day is enough to decrease thickness of the arteries, lower blood pressure, reduce LDL (bad) cholesterol, and increase antioxidants (anti-aging agents).
Dr. Cherniawski's recommendation: Drink 3 oz. of 100% pomegranate juice everyday. Drink it plain, add it to herbal tea (do not boil or microwave), or mix it into a healthy protein shake which contains 20 grams of undenatured whey protein. For the most benefit, drink the pomegranate protein shake within the first hour of waking.

Re: Power of Pomegranate
Hmmm...I'll have to try it! Krogers has them on sale right now, and I know I need to lower my cholesterol. The other benefits certainly wouldn't hurt me either! Thanks Dr. Cherniawski!

Re: Power of Pomegranate
How exciting!!!! I read an article that said 2 oz of pomegranate juice daily was good in correcting fingernalis that peel, crack, etc. About 6 wks ago I purchased the juice at Trader Joe's and have been drinking 2 oz daily since then. It is delicious! Have since found the 100% juice on sale at our local supermarket. Will now start drinking 3 oz daily.
Thank-you for the info!!

Re: Power of Pomegranate
Does Pomegranate juice help the fingernails from peeling and cracking? Iused to wear acrylic nails for years. It has been approx. 2 years now that I have not been wearing acrylics; but, my nails are still breaking, peeling, splitting,cracking....they're very dry. Will Pomegranate juice help this condition to make my nails pretty again?
