Human genetics has changed very little over the course of human time. Biologically speaking, then, we are designed to eat today what our ancestors ate. What did our ancestors eat?
Our ancestors ate whatever vegetation they could gather i.e. vegetables, fruit, nuts, and seeds, and whatever animals they could catch. They drank water. Their vegetation grew locally and was never treated with chemicals. Their animals roamed the land, ate grasses, and were never injected with pharmaceuticals. To be healthy and to lose weight today, these are the foods we need to eat.
While marketing campaigns are often clever, they are also deceitful. Packaged and process foods can never replace whole foods and will not lead to permanent weight loss.
