Face it. Improving your health probably does not top your priority list during the hustle and bustle of the holidays. For those of you who do start a health routine this month, I congratulate you. For those of you who have to wait until January, here are some tips to help you through the holiday season.
1. Get a small amount of exercise everyday, even while on your holiday break. As little as 5 minutes of blood pumping movement has been shown to improve health and increase metabolism.
2. Make produce and lean cuts of meat the focus of your meals and consume smaller portions of the other holiday foods you love.
3. When the holidays have you stressed, take a refreshing deep breath by breathing in your nose while feeling your belly move outward while your shoulders and chest remain relaxed. Breathe out through your mouth as your belly moves inward.
4. Get aches and pains under control before the festivities begin. Consult your local or Las Vegas Chiropractor to get help.
