Many people think of Chiropractic as a back pain specialty and, indeed, there is a lot of research that proves the effectiveness of chiropractic in this area. Many people do not realize, however, that chiropractic is also a good choice for a variety of ailments that occur from the neck up. These include neck pain, headaches, sinus and allergies problems, ringing in the ears, and many others.
Here's how it works: The nervous system, composed of the brain, spine, and nerves, control all the tissues, organs, and systems of the body. When there is interference in the nervous system a problem will develop. Chiropractors call these interferences subluxations and the problems that arise from them can be anything from aches and pains to a whole host of malfunctions of the body. The nerves that exit the neck (also called the cervical spine) go to the sinus area, ears, eyes, thyroid, muscles of the head, neck, and jaw, and down the arms into the hands and fingers. Subluxations in the neck that interfere with the nervous system can cause and/or contribute to tension headaches, migraines, hypo/hyperthyroid, sinus congestion, ringing in the ears, ear infections, grinding of the teeth, and pain, numbness or tingling of the shoulder, arm, elbow, wrist, hand, or fingers. Chiropractic works by finding subluxations and correcting them.
There are ways to tell if subluxations of the neck are contributing to your health concern. Have you ever been in a car accident? Have you ever spent long hours at a computer or doing desk work? Have you ever had a head injury? When you move your head and neck do you feel restriction, pain, or tightness? When you look at pictures of yourself does it appear that your head is consistently tilted to one side? If you answered yes to any of these questions, subluxation may be present and should be evaluated by a chiropractor.

Re: Ailments from the Neck Up Relieved with Chiropractic
My first visit with Angela was because of headaches. I had been suffering with a headache for months. It took probably 2 or 3 visits with Dr. Angela and no more headache.............thanks Angela!
