Every body system works on a "use it or lose" basis.  For example, if you do not use your muscles, your muscles weaken.  If you do not challenge your mind, mental capacity lessens.  Likewise, if you never challenge your immune system by allowing yourself and your children to get common flus, colds, and childhood illnesses, the immune system cannot fully develop or become strong.
