Inflammation is at the heart of all sickness, illness, and disease and results in redness, swelling, heat, pain, and loss of function.  Research links inflammation to allergies, arthritis, asthma, Alzheimer's disease, cancer, diabetes, digestive disorders, heart disease, hormonal imbalances, and osteoporosis.

There are 3 causes of inflammation in the body:  poor nutrition, unmanaged stress, and physical injury.  To get inflammation under control, all three causes need to be addressed.

1.  Nutrition.  Avoid pro-inflammatory foods including...

Stress is a heightened response to routine and out of the ordinary conditions and events in which there are three stages:  alarm, resistance, and exhaustion.  Exhaustion can occur from a prolonged upsetting experience, lowered body resistance, or some form of body malfunction. In this final stage, the body overreacts by continuously reacting as if it has to run away or fight.

In the exhaustion stage, the adrenal glands secrete hormones including cortisol, adrenaline, epinephrine, and DHEA. Continuous secretion of these hormones lead to serious health problems such as digestive problems, sinus and allergy problems, lowered immunity, trouble sleeping, fatigue, abnormal blood sugar levels, heart disease, high blood pressure, increased weight, and abnormal levels of the sex hormones.

Many people think of Chiropractic as a back pain specialty and, indeed, there is a lot of research that proves the effectiveness of chiropractic in this area.  Many people do not realize, however, that chiropractic is also a good choice for a variety of ailments that occur from the neck up.  These include neck pain, headaches, sinus and allergies problems, ringing in the ears, and many others.

Here's how it works:  The nervous system, composed of the brain, spine, and nerves, control all the tissues, organs, and systems of the body.  When...

American employees are sick, overweight, and in pain.  As a result, they are easily injured, miss days from work, and are less productive.

Even though the United States spends the most money worldwide on medication and surgical intervention, its citizens continue to suffer in increasing numbers.  And who picks up the brunt of the tab?  Employers.  Over the years, employer insurance premiums have risen drastically.  In fact, the NCHC notes that in 2005 employer premiums rose nearly 3 times the rate of inflation!  Employers are now realizing...

What health problem concerns you?  Common responses include headache, back pain, joint pain, weakness or numbness, digestive trouble, sinus/allergy trouble, sleeping trouble, fatigue, and/or moodiness/irritability.

While many people seek natural approaches to get relief of their symptoms, few people understand how chiropractic may help.

Have you ever had a pebble in your shoe?  How did it feel?  What did you do about it?

It would be silly to say that you took medication or had foot surgery to correct the problem. ...

Have you ever lost weight and gained it back?  Or, have you ever started a strict diet and/or exercise program and did not lose any weight at all?  You're not alone.  Weight loss is a $40 billion industry with a 98% failure rate.  Even though gyms and diet programs can be found everywhere, Americans continue to suffer.  In fact, by the year 2010 it is estimated that 75% of American adults and 25% of children will be overweight or obese.

If diet and exercise are not the answer, what is?

Cleansing works by removing the toxins from the...

Heart disease is the leading killer of Americans and many believe high cholesterol levels are to blame.  Despite the fact that cholesterol lowering medications are the number 2 most commonly taken drugs for chronic health conditions (blood pressure lowering medications are number 1), Americans still suffer in record numbers with the life threatening disease.

It begs to questions, are we targeting the right culprit?

What many people do not realize is that we NEED cholesterol to be healthy.  Cholesterol is in every cell of...

The first visit to a new place, especially if it is a doctor's office, can be intimidating.  We strive to reduce that intimidation by providing friendly service in a warm welcoming environment.  Here's what you can expect when you come into our office:

After being greeted you will sign in at the front desk and be given paperwork to be completed  about your current health status and health goals.  You will also read an informative brochure about our health philosophy and services.

During your time with the doctor all of your fears, questions, and concerns about chiropractic and any of our other services will be addressed before continuing with an in-depth consultation to find out your health history, concerns, and goals.  Depending on your goals (pain reduction, cleansing, weight loss, stress reduction etc.), the doctor will complete the neccessary exam to  include all or some of the following:  computerized thermal and muscle testing, a digital scan of the feet, a physical exam of the neck, back, and extremities, range of motion studies, blood pressure test, adrenal stress test, and pH testing of the saliva.

Measles.  Mumps.  Chicken Pox.  Hepatitis.  Flu.  We have vaccines for them all plus many, many more.  But are they necessary, and even more questionable, are they safe?  With ingredients such as thimerosal (mercury),  aluminum, formaldehyde, ether, and phenoyethanol (antifreeze) it's hard to believe that most people feel vaccines are healthy substances to administer to babies and small children.

Here are some facts to consider.  In 1983 the number of vaccines that the CDC recommended we give to our kids was 10.  Today they recommend 36. ...
